The vehicle carrying the actor was side-swiped by a sedan on I-5 near Laguna Hills, California, and ended up spinning and then rolling over, TMZ reported. The actor's rep told TMZ he's been released from the hospital and is doing well.

Ferrell, 50, was traveling down I-5 freeway in Orange County late Thursday in a chauffeur-driven SUV when it was side-swiped by another vehicle, TMZ reported.

The accident happened around 11 p.m.in Orange County. Information on the other two passengers was not immediately available.

Photos of the scene showed Ferrell sitting upright and talking on a cellphone as he was put into an ambulance.

Actor/comedian Will Ferrell was released from the hospital early Friday morning after he was involved in a rollover auto accident the night before, TMZ first reported and multiple outlets confirmed. Ferrell did not suffer any serious injury according to the report.

According to TMZ, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a cause for the accident, and police are continuing their investigation. The Public Information Officer for the Fresno division of the California Highway Patrol was unavailable for comment.

Ferrell appeared as Ron Burgundy from "Anchorman". That sideswiping caused the SUV to veer into the center divider and caused the vehicle to overturn.

The accident is said to have involved two cars.
