Presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu had revealed that the technical stopover hindered Buhari from arriving Nigeria on Wednesday after leaving Washington on Tuesday morning.
Senior Special Assistant to the president on Media and publicity, Garba Shehu, blamed the situation on the type of aircraft the president used for the trip which he said could not undertake the trip at a go.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the presidential aircraft carrying the president and some members of his entourage landed at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 10.35pm.
President Donald Trump of the U.S. had reportedly noted a "massive" corruption in Nigeria while commending Buhari for the effort of his government to fight graft in the country.
Uzodimma, also the Senate Committee Chairman on Custom, Excise and Tariffs, who only last week joined APC said such rare commendations coming from no less a person than the President of the World's best democracy, the United States, only go to show that the Buhari led Federal Government is indeed making visible progress, particularly in the areas of corruption and terrorism.

"This is especially as Buhari's foreign trips, which come at great costs, have not brought any gains to our country. I support you President Muhammadu Buhari".
"Instead, the President has continued to de-market our nation in the global arena".
Former military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd) has cautioned the National Assembly on the impreachment moves against President Muhammadu Buhari, adding it will not be in the interest of Nigeria.
