A free luncheon for those who attend the ceremony will be held at the American Legion Post No. 404 at 1267 W. M-61 in Harrison.
Memorial Day activities in Attleboro area
On Monday, Memorial Day the Veteran will meet at 8:00-8:15 a.m.at the Maynard Community Hall to prepare for the days services.
The Sparta Memorial Day Parade will be held at 10 a.m., starting at the Lake Mohawk Marina and ending at the Mohawk Avenue School, where a Memorial Day ceremony will take place. Following the concert, military honors will be accorded at the honor roll by the American Legion Edward Arthur Rafferty Post No. 632's Honor Guard. Bring chairs. 309-788-6197. The Ogdensburg parade will start at 7:30 a.m., from the firehouse to St. Thomas Cemetery for a memorial service, followed by services at Franklin's Immaculate Conception Cemetery at 8:30 a.m., North Church (Hardyston) Cemetery at 9:15 a.m., and the North Jersey Veterans Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. The group will then proceed to Center Grove Cemetery for a 8:45 service and then continue to Hope Cemetery for a 9:00 a.m. service. All veterans are welcome to walk during the parade.
The Daughters of the American Revolution will host the 9:45 a.m. ceremony at the memorial behind the Vermilion County War Museum. Mass will be inside if it rains. The honor roll will also be read of departed members of the military who were either buried at the cemetery or elsewhere but are from Loda Township. Light refreshments and cookies will be served following the program until 11:30 a.m. while the church remains open for fellowship.
