Today, Blizzard Entertainment announced that the Anniversary event for Overwatch will be returning this year in the previously leaked Overwatch Anniversary 2018 event to celebrate Overwatch's second year of being released.
Blizzard said it's also adding more than 50 new items to the game, including eight new legendary skins and three epic skins. The event promises more than 50 new items, including 8 Legendary skins and 3 Epic skins that can be found in loot boxes. As it so happens, Overwatch will be free-to-play on all platforms from May 25 to May 28, so you'll be able to check out this anniversary event on the house.
Blizzard also plans to launch a new legendary edition of "Overwatch" on May 22. The map is one that's only for Deathmatch games and should be available when the next anniversary event begins on May 22, a date that was confirmed in the tweet below.

Eight minutes later, Van Aanholt then scored the goal he deserved by finishing a classy passing move. "He is ours and I still believe he will be when the season begins".
It's been almost two years since Overwatch debuted for PC. Additionally, a new Competitive Mode is being added to Deathmatch.
Once you're done replaying the above Junkrat and Roadhog dance-off in a hypnotizing loop, you can check out the full list of planned bonuses for the Anniversary event below. PlayStation players will not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play, either. "Players will also be able to level up, earn Loot Boxes, and unlock a variety of different customization options for their heroes". It hasn't been stated whether or not this mode will be permanent, or if it'll just last for the anniversary event only. It includes 15 additional skins, including Legendary ones and the Origins skins that were released with the game back in 2016.
