Police had been called in around 10:30 P.M. local time where they found DelTondo; she was found shot after getting out of her auto, with neighbors claiming they heard around 10 to 12 gunshots.
A teacher has been shot dead on Sunday a matter of months after she was suspended from her post for allegedly being caught by the police in a compromising position in a vehicle with a 17-year-old boy.
DelTondo reportedly contacted the bridal shop to tell them that she wanted to pay off the balance on the dress for resale, but she allegedly never received the dress.
"We understand that it is our legal and ethical responsibility to protect all children, which is why we have taken the actions that we have". We have no additional information beyond what is being reported by local media.
The suspension came after school officials received an anonymous email containing a February 2016 police report stating DelTondo had been found in a parked auto with a 17-year-old former student. But four months later, DelTondo and her fiance called off the wedding.
Authorities said that it is unclear whether the incident with the teenager had anything to do with her murder. She was "brutally shot at close range multiple times", in the Aliquippa driveway, Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier told Newsweek.
"It's shameful that this woman was painted with a police report that had been written that did not result in criminal charges", Lozier said.

WXPI reports that 32-year-old Rachel DelTondo was gunned down at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Buchanan Drive in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, after coming home from getting ice cream with a friend, family members said. DelTondo had been suspended after confidential information was leaked from the police department regarding an encounter between her and an underage student from another school. Police have not named a suspect in her death and would not comment to the media about whether they had interviewed any suspects.
DelTondo's death comes just six months after the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School teacher was suspended from her job over a leaked police report.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance video and DelTondo's cellphone for clues.
She also said 'she didn't want her fiancé to know that she was here parked because he would get mad'.
However, she was reportedly suspended last fall following allegations from a former Aliquippa High School student's mother.
They've been canvassing the neighborhood, reviewing surveillance tapes, and have sent DelTondo's cell phone and others to a lab in Harrisburg to unlock the data, texts and communications. However, investigators have not revealed information about the case at this time.
Pennsylvania State Police opened an investigation in December into the Aliquippa police on misuse of law enforcement data from the state's Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network, state police spokesman Ryan Tarkowski told the newspaper on Tuesday.
