The difference in 13-year-old Courtney Haldwin when she is singing from her everyday self has to be seen to be believed.
In her performance Tuesday, she wowed the judges with her rendition of Frank Sinatra's "My Way".
She soulfully sang "Hard to Handle" by Otis Redding.
The schoolgirl was supporting music legends Sister Sledge at the annual event, which saw her manage to get the crowd on their feet during her energetic three-song set.
"Genuinely incredible", said Simon. Channeling her inner Janis Joplin, the young singer delivered a memorable performance that left a huge impression on the judges, especially Simon Cowell. "You are not from this era, you are from whole different era", said Howie. "I'm not Clive Davis". While Howie couldn't give Courtney a record deal, he did hit the golden buzzer meaning she will go straight to the live show rounds.
