US President Donald Trump is due to attend the G7 summit in Quebec this week before travelling to Singapore for a summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un on 12 June - but his first lady will not be by his side.
Melania Trump stayed behind while the president left on a weekend getaway Friday, making it 22 days since she last appeared in public. The US first lady, 48, has not been seen in public since May 10 when she and the president welcomed home three Americans who had been held prisoner in North Korea.
On May 14, Melania was admitted at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland, where she underwent an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition. After returning to the White House to recover, Melania apparently dropped out of sight.

A spokesperson for the first lady confirmed the planned appearance to CNN.
OK, but that still does't explain why she can't go outside. Grisham says that the First Lady would like to be out in public promoting her initiatives, but her health does come first.

Paolo Zampolli, a longtime pal of Melania's, told the Associated Press she "wanted to spend some quality time with her family".
As per a White House official statement, the operation was successful. "She is doing great".
She hasn't tweeted since May 30.
