This mugginess can be maddening, but at least the rain may mostly hold off until late afternoon. Temperatures will top off this afternoon in the mid to upper 80s with the heat index at 90+ for most. There is the chance of a few showers and storms to fire up along a cold front that will sweep through during the afternoon and evening. Some of the storms will have some heavy rain at times.
Tuesday will also feature just scattered showers and storms, with highs holding in the low 90s.

Gusty southerly winds will howl across most of Kansas again Sunday when highs top-out near 100 degrees under a sunny to partly cloudy sky. Highs will top out in the mid-90s. Otherwise we're mostly cloudy as drier air filters in and lows dip to the mid-50s to low 60s.
The partly cloudy/party sunny mix should continue through the rest of the week, with highs in the 70s.
Other storms are possible across northern portions of KAKEland overnight into Wednesday morning, but the severe risk with those is lower than down south.
