During the 2018 Summer Television Critics Association press tour early Wednesday morning, HBO President Casey Bloys revealed that while he wasn't going to talk (at all) about what fans can expect from the final season (yeah, yeah, no surprise there but we had to try), he did let slip that "it's pretty great". That could conceivably see Game of Thrones return to its previous release window of March or April, as opposed to Season 7's July 2017 premiere.
Bloys confirmed the prequel won't start shooting until early 2019.
