According to the Today show, Brainard drove more than 30 hours from Anoka, Minnesota to San Francisco to enroll Zsa Zsa in the contest, as Zsa Zsa herself was rescued from a puppy mill after Brainaird found her on PetFinder.com. At the time, her owner, Megan Brainard, said couldn't be happier.
"I picked Zsa Zsa up and took her outside and laid her down in the grass", she said.
No pooch could beat out 9-year-old English bulldog "Zsa Zsa", with an exceptionally droopy tongue. We were all saying our goodbyes and Mareslie went right over and gave her a kiss.
Hurricane Chris Forms Off Carolina, But Unlikely to Hit
Chris became a hurricane as it moved away from the United States late yesterday afternoon. Tropical Storm Chris has spiraled into full hurricane status off the U.S.
Zsa Zsa was truly a thing of beauty.
After winning the annual contest in California, Zsa Zsa and her entourage flew to NY for an appearance on NBC's "Today Show". "She's so lovely - ugly", Ms Brainard said after winning the title against some stiff global competition.
"She knew she was special".
While mean-spirited in name, the contest promotes advocacy and adoption for all dogs, regardless of how mangy the mutts may be.
