Pompeo offered a different view on the discussions when he talked to reporters on Saturday.

While Pompeo hailed progress from the talks, the results he announced on Saturday will do little to quell unease that North Korea's commitment to denuclearisation, made when President Donald Trump met with Kim Jong-un in Singapore last month, is a facade and it has no intention of giving up its weapons.

A state department spokesperson said Pompeo had been very firm in focusing on denuclearisation, and other security assurances, BBC reported.

Pompeo's visit to North Korea forced the United States to postpone a planned meeting of us and Indian defense and foreign ministers, so expectations were high among Japanese and South Korean officials that Pompeo would meet with Kim Jong Un during the two-day visit. "However, the attitude of the United States in the first high-level talks held on the 6th and 7th were indeed regrettable". "But expectation and hope of ours were so naive as to be foolish", read the statement. -North Korea talks, the government also suggested it was taking a cautiously optimistic view of events. A meeting will take place between a team from the Pentagon and North Korea at the South-North border next week, Pompeo explained.

The North's statement, coming so soon after Pompeo's trip, was sure to fuel growing skepticism in the US over how serious Kim Jong Un is about giving up his nuclear arsenal.

Evans Revere, a former USA diplomat with a long history of negotiating with North Korea, said that it was evident now that talks in Pyongyang had not gone well - and that it appeared North Korea may have no intention of actually denuclearizing in the way the United States would want.

"But Washington should not allow nuclear talks to be held hostage to peace talks or else there could be peace with a nuclear-armed North Korea indefinitely".

Pompeo, however, said more talks were needed on both. And that process will begin to develop over the days that followed.

"These are complicated issues but we made progress on nearly all of the central issues".

During the second day of his visit, an expected meeting between Pompeo and Kim Jong-un failed to materialize.

Netflix plans to remove user reviews of individual shows starting next month
Netflix, however, seems to think differently, and has taken the decision to kill off the user reviews feature of its website. A plan that limits subscribers to one screen at a time without high-definition remained at £5.99 ($8 in the US) a month.

Remarkably, the North Korean foreign ministry seemed taken aback by the USA calls that it abandon its nuclear arsenal - ostensibly the entire point behind last month's meeting in Singapore between Trump and Kim.

Opening the talks after the United States envoy arrived on Friday, his opposite number Kim Yong Chol joked to Pompeo that he must be getting used to the city by now.

"We did have very serious discussions on very important matters yesterday", Kim said.

"So, thinking about those discussions you might have not slept well."

"It's a broad definition", Pompeo said.

Pompeo reiterated that Trump was "committed to a brighter future for North Korea".

"I think we made progress in every element of our discussions", he said, according to a pool report from usa journalists who accompanied him to North Korea.

Pompeo and Kim met for almost three hours Friday and then had dinner amid growing skepticism over how serious Kim Jong Un is about giving up his nuclear arsenal and translating the upbeat rhetoric following his June 12 summit with Trump into concrete action.

She wouldn't characterize Friday's discussions beyond saying they addressed denuclearization and the repatriation of American remains, saying, "We expect them to live up to their commitments".
