There will be a 50 percent coverage of rain Monday in the Orlando area, where temperatures will warm into the low 90s. Most of us will see mostly sunny skies today.
Dominica and Guadeloupe remain on tropical storm warning while Martinique, St Martin, St Barthelemy, Saba, St Eustatius and St Maarten are on tropical storm watch. It also dumped torrential rain in the U.S. Virgin Island of St. Croix, with the National Weather Service warning of high winds and fallen trees and light posts. It will still be windy today with NE winds at 10 to 20 miles per hour along the coast (lighter inland).
Many North Carolina beaches were closed due to heavy surf and unsafe currents caused by the storm, the governor's office said.
"Other than some impacts at the beaches, there are no direct impacts expected for the MYR and Grand Strand areas if Chris does become a hurricane", said Steve Pfaff with the Wilmington National Weather Service.
"There may be a few rain bands along the Outer Banks and some rough surf", said Gardner.

Forecasters said Beryl probably would dissipate once it moved south of Haiti and the Dominican Republic on Tuesday or Wednesday.
"Given the current track, the highest wind gusts in Atlantic Canada would likely range from 64 to 97 km/h (40-60 mph), especially along the Atlantic-facing beaches of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland", said Max Vido, an Accuweather meteorologist.
Chris is expected to become the second hurricane of the 2018 Atlantic season sometime late today or early Tuesday.
Dominicas government had said it would shut down the water system during the storms pass as a precautionary measure to lessen possible damage. We'll be keeping a close eye on this one.
