Southwestern public health is alerting the public that a mosquito has tested positive for West Nile virus for the second time in as many weeks.
There is new evidence of West Nile virus in Perth County. The Iowa Department of Public Health says West Nile is spread by mosquitoes and can produce symptoms ranging from fever and mild headache to life-threatening inflammation of the brain.
So for this year in Ontario, three probable or confirmed human cases of West Nile virus have been reported.

Wear clothing made of tightly woven fabric that covers the entire body. Health officials note that even a container as small as a bottle cap can become a mosquito breeding ground, so residents should take to eliminate standing water.
