USA pop singer Demi Lovato spoke out on Sunday about her battle with addiction, saying she needed "time to heal and focus on my sobriety" days after media reports said she was taken to a Los Angeles hospital suffering from a suspected overdose.
"Her family and team have decided that the best situation for Demi to focus on her sobriety is to check into an in-patient facility", the source says.
"I will keep fighting", she promises in her statement below.
The star went on to note that her overdose was indeed life-threatening and thanked the medical staff as well as those around her for making sure that the worst didn't happen.
Demi's post came as it was reported that she was set to leave hospital this week and enter a rehab facility.
