Vikings security chief Kim Klawiter told police that Griffen wasn't "acting normal lately" and that "it's nearly like he's having a nervous breakdown". The person's name is redacted in the report, but Raiche has confirmed Griffen as the suspect. The reporting officer placed a health and welfare hold on Griffen "based upon his actions and information I had acquired about him".
"That's our brother. We just want to know that he's in a good mental state and we just want to know that he got right", running back Dalvin Cook said. A 911 call made from the hotel said a man (later identified by KSTP as Griffen) had said, "if someone doesn't let him back into his room he's gonna shoot someone" - though if Griffen had a gun on him, he didn't show it to anyone.
Following the incident at the hotel Saturday, Griffen allegedly attempted to break in to the home of teammate Trae Waynes before climbing into a stranger's truck and being driven to his home in Minnetrista, according to an incident report.
When police met Griffen at his home, they said he was making comments about angels and said he went to Waynes' home because "God made me do it".
On the way to the hospital, however, Griffen got out of the ambulance and police found him walking along County Road 44 waving his hands in the air.

Zimmer is simultaneously showing off-the-field support for Griffen and trying to focus the rest of the roster's attention on the field during a short week of preparation against the defending NFC West champs who have opened 3-0. He told police that "Everson was acting insane and he was risky", according to a report filed Saturday by Minnetrista police officer Justin Thompson. The driver later told police he "didn't feel safe at all and needed to get out of there", according to the report.
Coach Mike Zimmer said Griffen wasn't on the sideline for the game because he was dealing with a "personal matter" but wouldn't elaborate. Griffen also jumped out of the ambulance, saying he was in fear of someone shooting him, before ultimately being calmed and taken to the hospital.
Griffen, who was replaced by Stephen Weatherly in the starting lineup on Sunday, sat out for most of the offseason practices out of precaution for a knee injury. "In the long run, he's a really good kid", he added.
"The only thing that we're concerned about for Everson isn't anything do with football, it's about him getting better", Zimmer reflected.
"We are aware of the situation involving Everson Griffen and certainly concerned by what we have heard", Griffen said. Unable to return to Minnesota in time for the birth, Griffen watched via FaceTime from his phone before recording two sacks in that game.
