Google Pixel 3 specifications Google Pixel 3 has a 5.5-inch FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) flexible OLED screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. A Chrome OS tablet, the new device comes with a detachable keyboard cover that can turn it into a laptop substitute.
Google's launch event arrives as the search giant has become more serious about its hardware business. But today at Google's yearly hardware event, the company took a slightly different tack.
Google showed off one especially impressive feature that its Assistant app can perform: Call screening, which can screen a phone call for you if you don't recognize a number.
Expanding geographic distribution should provide a small boost to the Pixel line-up. It's been two years since Google Home launched, and now that the company's smart speaker line-up is four products strong, Google says its working to create not only a more connected home but a more "thoughtful" one. While it's true we got a glimpse of majority ahead of time thanks to copious leaks (which Google themselves lightly poked fun at during the opening segment), it was still fun to see them in action.
Also helpful could be a new artificial intelligence tool sure to generate buzz among consumers. Imagine you're at dinner with family or in a meeting at work and a call from an unknown caller comes in. Rick Osterloh, the Senior Vice President of Google products, claimed that Titan Security will facilitate screen-locking, as well as many other aspects of security on the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. The first Pixel devices hit 2.4 million shipments in the nine months ended June 30, 2017, the firm said.
But it remains to be seen how much of an impact the Pixel 3 can make on a marketplace dominated by Apple, Huawei and Samsung.
Israeli PM's wife goes on trial for fraud
The Netanyahus have denied any wrongdoing, and say they are the victims of a political witch hunt driven by a hostile media. Israeli police have already recommended indicting Netanyahu for bribery, fraud and breach of trust in two separate cases.
The starting price of last year's Google Pixel 2 was $649 for the 64GB model, while the 128GB model was priced at $749. (The iPad Pro doesn't even have a touchpad.) Pinch-zoom and two-finger scrolling were quick and responsive.
Google says the Pixel Slate will be available "later this year" for $US599; the Pixel Slate Keyboard will cost $US199, while the new stylus is $US99.
The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are YouTube Signature devices.
In just two short years Google has produced what's arguably the best smartphone camera on the market - and it's done it by using one camera, not two as is the case with its competitors.
It's worth noting that the Home Hub does not feature a built-in camera, a move Google hopes will make users feel more comfortable putting the device in private areas, such as bathrooms or bedrooms.
In that respect, the Google Home Hub is nearly an exact replica of Amazon's Echo Show, which is also a screen with a built-in digital assistant that connects to various music and video services, most owned by Amazon, and anything that includes the Alexa system. That's similar to Amazon's Echo Show and a new Facebook device called Portal.
Elsewhere, the Google Home Hub will respond automatically to your environment thanks to "Ambient EQ", which combines a dedicated sensor and Google's own imaging algorithms to automatically fine-tune the brightness and colour of the display.
