Of course, the main questions surrounding The Conners isn't what's in them, but rather, what's missing from them.
Goodman, who misses "just sitting around and giggling" with Barr on set, acknowledges that the new show will be different without "that centre of gravity".
"The fact that [the show] was up again and we got another chance, that was the juice for me", echoed Goodman. "I'm exhausted of crying".

The new sitcom revealed the original matriarch had been killed off in the very first episode, after the real life actress was sacked for posting a seemingly racist tweet. Viewers are left with a blue-collar family anxious about bill collectors and military deployments.
Barr faced an immediate backlash from fans and the network, and even though she apologized to Jarrett and her fans, ABC still chose to part ways with the comedian.

After the premiere of The Conners on Tuesday night - which according Nielsen, was down 35% since it's predecessor-series Spring return - the disgraced sitcom star issued a statement condemning the network for the "grim and morbid" way it said goodbye to Roseanne Conner.
"The emotions are always complex", he added. Thankfully, "The Conners" stays in that tradition. But her death would have to be reverent to the woman who was so beloved by her family.
"I don't know", Goodman said of the reaction amongst fans.
This conversation helps Dan, who has been unable to sleep in the bed he once shared with his wife since she died, find an ounce of peace. The lack of Roseanne Barr, on the other hand, is skirted throughout the episode.
