Malibu officials initially said the order applied to the entire city but have now defined an area that is approximately the western two-thirds of the community.
The largest blaze, known as Camp Fire, has hit northern California and is the only one that has been deadly so far, devastating 28,000 hectares (69,000 acres) and engulfing much of Paradise, a town of 26,000 residents located some 280 km (174 mi) north of San Francisco.
While no homes or businesses have been lost due to the fast-moving blaze, a number of RVs and outbuildings have been burned and a firefighter suffered a minor injury, authorities said. The identities of the victims have not yet been determined.
Meanwhile, a set of other wildfires continued to burn and threaten regions about 500 miles away in Southern California.
At least five people died in a Northern California wildfire as they desperately tried to flee in their cars, officials said Friday.
"We never heard from them again", Lee said.
More than 400 firefighters from Ventura County, Los Angeles County, the City of Los Angeles and Cal Fire were battling the brush fire. The fire was zero percent contained. The area could experience 30 to 50 mile winds through Sunday and are expected to calm Monday, the National Weather Service reports.

As a result of the devastation that ravaged the small community, leaving at least five people dead, the Paradise High School football team has been forced to concede its playoff game against Red Bluff, Rick Silva of the Paradise Post reported Friday afternoon. "It was absolutely dark", said resident Mike Molloy, who said he made a split decision based on the wind to leave Thursday morning, packing only the minimum and joining a sea of other vehicles.
"There are times when you have such rapid-moving fires ... no amount of planning is going to result in a ideal scenario, and that's what we had to deal with here", Mr Honea told the Action News Network. "A lot of roads were congested with traffic that just could not move, so we moved those into church parking lots and store parking lots where we could get them all together and have our resources there to protect them".
Fire officials are saying that hundreds of homes have burned but it could be days before accurate numbers are available.
"A whole town was wiped out in 24 hours", Rocklin Police officer Jon Gee said.
