Now, with the former actress having no immediate family to share her new life with, her majesty has reportedly made a decision to invite her mom, Doria Ragland (62), to spend Christmas at her private country house in Sandringham, England, Daily Mail reports.
Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, memorably broke protocol a year ago by inviting Meghan as the first fiancée to attend Christmas with the royal family before her wedding to Harry in May. The Queen usually spends Christmas and New Year's at her Sandringham estate, with members of her family often joining her.
Kate Middleton's family has joined the royals at church on Christmas morning previously but have stayed at nearby Anmer Hall rather than Sandringham itself.
According to a report in the Sunday Express, a source said it was a "very thoughtful gesture" towards the pregnant Duchess.
