Another clue is when Trump says this: "You know what, I think you should let me run the country".
A visibly angry Trump called reporter Jim Acosta a "rude, bad person", after the CNN White House correspondent refused the president's orders to sit down and yield the microphone during the conference one day after the U.S. midterm election.
The video in question, which was allegedly made by conspiracy website Infowars, was sped-up to make it look like Acosta had aggressively shoved a female intern who tried to take away his microphone at Donald Trump's post-midterm election press conference.
But the White House maintains that Mr Acosta was in the wrong, with Ms Sanders tweeting that his actions were "absolutely unacceptable".
"It's such a hostile media", Trump said after ordering reporter April Ryan of the American Urban Radio Networks to sit down when she tried to ask him a question. If there is one thing that Trump knows well, it's how to get ratings, a fact that CBS Chairman Les Moonves once testified to when he said that "it may not be good for America" but Trump is "damn good" at getting viewers.
Journalists assigned to cover the White House apply for passes that allow them daily access to press areas in the West Wing.
Phillip said it was a fair question given the president's frequent public attacks on former attorney general Jeff Sessions, who had to recuse himself from overseeing the probe.
Trump also called out Acosta for his well-documented and theatrical spats with Sanders during the normal course of press briefings. But she is very nasty and she shouldn't be. Huckabee Sanders has been an ideal press secretary for Donald Trump: more composed and ready to play the martyr than Scaramucci and free of the sense of shame that sometimes held Sean Spicer back.
"It could be others also".
Woolsey Fire in Ventura County quadruples overnight; 30,000 evacuated
Camp Fire has already reached Chico, home to 90,000 people, about 20 miles of west of Paradise and 90 miles north of Sacramento. Cal Fire Director Ken Pimlott said a "very significant, unsafe weather pattern" would continue through the end of the weekend.
Acosta, on Twitter, denied Sanders' comment and said he and CNN "won't back down" after the ban. "As a result of today's incident, the White House is suspending the hard pass of the reporter involved until further notice".
"CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them", Trump said.
On Friday morning, before leaving on a trip to France to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, Trump stopped to speak to members of the press. The way you treat other people is awful.
"What a stupid question you asked", Trump replied.
Even as Acosta is muttering these words, Trump begins to mock him: "Oh here we go".
Mr Acosta's press pass was later cancelled amid accusations that he "placed his hands" on the intern.
"I think Jim Acosta is a very unprofessional man".
Trump didn't like the question, but reporters from competing networks defended Phillip's inquiry.
