Several fire alarm bells rang inside CNN's NY newsroom, signaling an evacuation after the call was received shortly before 10 p.m., the company's security said.
CNN's Brian Stelter tweeted that the headquarters had been evacuated while NYPD investigates.
The building was evacuated in the middle of Don Lemon's live show, the anchor said. The NYPD later issued an all-clear and said pedestrian traffic was reopened.
Police have given the all-clear after a phoned in bomb threat forced the evacuation of CNN's offices in NY. Police units then swept the building with the NYPD bomb squad on standby.
The news of evacuation came around half an hour after President Donald Trump attacked the mainstream media yet again with a short tweet.

The one sent to the CNN was addressed to former Central Intelligence Agency director John Brennan, who is a contributor to MSNBC and NBC News but has no relation to CNN.
A Florida man named Cesar Sayoc was arrested for allegedly sending them and was indicted on 30 federal counts.
